A Million March to US Capitol to Protest Against ‘Obama the Socialist’

As many as one million people flooded into Washington for a massive rally organised by conservatives claiming that President Obama is driving America towards socialism. Â The size of the crowd – by far the biggest protest since the president took office in January – shocked the White House.
Demonstrators massed outside Capitol Hill after marching down Pennsylvania Avenue waving placards and chanting ‘Enough, enough’.
The focus of much of the anger was the president’s so-called ‘Obamacare’ plan to overhaul the U.S. health system. Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading ‘Go Green Recycle Congress’ and ‘I’m Not Your ATM’.’
The protest on Saturday came as Mr. Obama took his campaign for health reforms on the road, making his argument to a rally of 15,000 supporters in Minneapolis. Saying he was determined to push through a bill making health insurance more affordable, Mr Obama said: ‘I intend to be president for a while and once this bill passes, I own it.
But in Washington, protester Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam veteran, said: ‘It’s going to cost too much money we don’t have.’ Another marcher shouted: ‘You want socialism? Go to Russia!’
Terri Hall, 45, of Florida, said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending. ‘Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted,’ she said. She added that the deficit spending was out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.

I think it says something about Pres Obama when he came to Minneapolis to push healthcare in our libral leaning state when so many thousands of American’s went to Washington D.C. to send a message. Pres Obama flys around like Air Force One was a free ride. The people who went to Washington D.C. to send an urgent message about saving our country spent hard earned money. I don’t believe Pres O gives one hoot about this great country. The sooner he destroys it the sooner he will declare mission accomplished. How’s that for Hope and Change people!
I am starting to believe again in America, THANKYOU to all of you. Now it is time to get the trash out of the capitol starting with Pelosi and Reed!

Health care needs reform, but not the way that bill proposes to do it.

I am so proud of the people that went there to stand up for America. Thank You All. He was here in MN and now I understand why. He was avoiding the people who are standing up to him. There sure wasn’t much “Coverage” on all the people that are against his OBamaCare was there? I want a president that doesn’t steal, lie, break promises, and worst of all that he is destroying this country. He is not Proud of America and that is so obvious when he goes to other dictators and says “He’s sorry about America” I say “He” should move to a Socialist Country and live there. My favorite sign that I read in the above video was “Think Green, Recycle Congress.” I sayThink Green Recycle everyone who signs a bill that the people have stated they are against…. I don’t think Nancy is worth recycling, so let’s have her sent to live in a cave with the gentle taliban men. If the CIA needed to save her with getting answers all they can do now is tickle them, or is that too men to do a proud terrorist.
I am grateful and indebted to the people who made the trip. The president visited the Twin Cities to meet with supporters and avoid those who are against what he is shoveling-out. The media coverage was of course one-sided and mean’t to convey massive support for the president’s plan. I truly believe that the elected officials top-to-bottom are making a very huge mistake by not heeding what the people have to say. I can’t wait for the next elections.
Good Intentions do not always mean Good Decisions!
What an Obamanation…Obama leaving his nation’s capitol where people wanted to be HEARD to visit the midwest semi-liberal state of MN where the only people present just wanted to be SEEN with a president.
I’m not a politician, I’m not a member of congress, I’m not even very bright, but I could write a bill in three pages or less in pica elite, double spaced, 1 inch margins, that would save the US billions and reform health care and make it possible for small businesses to offer affordable health care. That Bill would be on tort reform and especially medical malpractice. That Bill would not have any pork in it.
The next Bill I would offer up would be one that gave the President line item veto power. That would be a 2 pager in the same format.
The third Bill I would suggest would be that no bill could be offered that a 5th grader could not read in 3 hours. Do you think that’s easy enough for Pelosi? Okay, I hear you, …3rd grader in 5 hours.
Not ready for the proposed bill – too many unknowns.

My husband and I flew at our own expense to Washington DC to participate in the 912 March on the Capitol and were dismayed that Obama flew to Minnesota on the same day at Taxpayer’s Expense to continue campaigning for his government take over of health care. Someone needs to inform him that the campaign ended last November and he needs to stop spending more of taxpayer’s hard earned money for his agenda.
The politicle class is starting to understand the real power belongs to “WE THE PEOPLE”. We must stand strong for the long haul.
Government cannot run any business properly. There is not enough accountability and too much outside influence.
We were not able to attend the rally in DC. Thank you to all who participated. It is so sad that the media has been bought by the left and reports only what is favorable to them. And when they do report something it is deceitful saying we are racist and don’t want a Black president. But that’s what the left is good at – repeating untruths over and over until eventually some people start to believe it. We’re not saying we don’t want health care reform, we don’t want government running our health care. They won’t even listen to any bills put forth by the Republicans which make more sense for fixing our health system. I am just astounded at what he has done in just 8 months in office. He and his crew will have this country so messed up it is hard to imagine what it will be like at the end of his 4 years in office.
The answer is to have clinics, where doctors donate one day a month to service the indigent. This donation would be for the priviledge of being licensed. No licensed doctor should be exempt, including the Surgeon General.
