The Target Four
Senators Evan Bayh (D-IN), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) and Ben Nelson (D-NE) are probably the four most popular people in the US Senate today. These are the four most vulnerable Democrats in the Senate who stand to potentially lose their seats if they vote the wrong way on the health care ‘reform’ bill.
These four Senators are getting immense pressure from President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and numerous left-wing interest groups to vote in-favor of a government takeover of our health care industry. In some cases, they are being bribed by special incentives included in the bill that target their specific states.
Concerned citizens from across the nation should CONTACT ALL FOUR SENATORS and demand that they vote “NO” on this bill. Tell them to vote “NO” on all procedural motions to advance the bill. A total of 60 votes are required to advance the bill to the floor of the Senate, but just 51 votes will be required to pass the bill once its on the floor. Our best chance of killing the bill is to prevent it from getting to the floor of the Senate. Tell these Senators that you will consider a vote to advance the bill as a vote in-favor of the bill (see Senator Jim DeMint’s column on this issue).
We must overwhelm these four Senators with phone calls and faxes so that they finally get the message that a majority of Americans do not want a government run health care system.
|
Step #1: Make Some Calls Call the Senators’ Washington offices and every one of their district offices. Tell them if they support the health care bill, you will do everything in your power to see they are defeated when they are next up for election. Don’t accept excuses by their staff that just because you don’t reside in their state that you cannot offer your comments. The outcome of these four Senators’ votes will affect you, your family and future generations of Americans.
|
Step #2: Make a Pledge Fill-out the form below to send a FAX to all four Senators notifying them you intend to pledge money to their defeat if they allow this bill to advance to the floor of the Senate. You choose how, when and to whom you want to make your contribution. NO MONETARY TRANSACTION TAKES PLACE BY COMPLETING THIS FORM. You are simply sending a strong message regarding your intentions.
